Team 3: 4 different ideas for a Transmedia Franchise.

Our idea about zombieland: it is a movie, we can create a sims pack therefore consumers can create their own zombieland and live in it, maybe a fright night (just like in a Themepark). In theme parks we can include something too.  In the movie the characters are also chased by zombies in a theme park. also a tv serie about how life was before the zombie apocalypse.
Project X –> it’s already a movie.. We can make extra merchandise for it such as a project X party kit.
Also a TV programme can be made from it where friends are planning a party and than surprise somebody with it.
We can make a game out of it where you need to plan the ultimate party and need to plan everything through missions. We can make a whole world outside of the already existing Project X movie with new characters, friends etc. and we can turn that into a series where we also see the ‘normal’ lives of the characters… It continues from the original movie.
As Batman always steals the spotlight it is now Robins turn. We will create a movie based on his life and how he tackels crime. In addition to a phone game, videogames will also be created which will offer consumers the chance to be Robin. Also, a rollercoaster attraction will be designed for them parks around the world. Of course merchandise products will be offered, such as actions dolls, costumes, books, cups etc..
We can expand spirited away in such a way like pokemon. Now its just a movie we can make series games etc.

The best idea, in my opinion, is Zombieland. I love the idea of the sims pack. There are webisodes on youtube, released before the movie I think, as “alternative trailers” (
But, since I’m not really into “The Sims”, I’d like to know how would you integrate the zombies? NPCs wandering around that have to be killed?
    Keep up the good work!

I agree with Pol Bordas that the Zombieland idea is very good, however, in my opinion the Project X idea is the most entertaining idea.
I believe these ideas for Project X would work out very well, if you develop these transmedia ideas in a carefull and clever way (Be sure to keep the same ‘vibe’ as the movie, and not to become to serious! Especially with the follow-up series). Especially since the movie is such a hype and is getting a lot of publicity lately.
The merchandising kit is very creative as well. I like how you will make a game and a serie and a merchandising kit, combining 3 very creative ideas to market Project X (and eventually make it even more well known than it already is). Well done team 3!

    Hi guys! Nice job!
I would have loved to see more ideas for the Spirited Away proposal.
However, since you did not elaborate on that idea, I think the Project X idea is the best thought-through idea you have so far. I think it could be very successful, since the movie is such a hype and people are already throwing crazy parties and calling them ‘Project X …’. Especially students will be very eager to have a Project X party kit I think. However, I don’t think parents and local governments will be very happy with this idea, since all the extreme partying is extremely unhealthy and the party-goers are completely out of control. You will have to find a way to show this product is both fun for the party animals and somewhat responsible for the parents…
Good luck with picking a project team 3!

I really liked the Zombieland idea and you can definitely run alot further with the idea. The fact that I enjoyed the movie may have influenced my opinion but nevertheless the idea seems alot more feasible than the Project X campaign. A TV show cannot be created to merely show the constant organising and planning of a party. Moreover, I think that the next batman movie will be about Robin so look into that for sure!

    Hey guys!

I really like the Zombieland idea, especially the Themepark. As themepark is also in the movie, it could be a great transition from movie world to real life. However, I am not sure if it is a good idea to build a Themepark only based on Zombies chasing people. Not everybody is willing to live through a horror experience. Therefore, i thought you could maybe incorporate a Zombieland attraction in an already existing themepark. Just an idea to think about 🙂

I agree with Vivian on the fact that Project X by far the most popular of all ideas at the moment. So this can attract bigger audiences than the other ideas. However, the way you present your Project X franchise, it seems to be a bit narrow. How do you include the older generations and give them a proper Project X feeling? It might be fun and possibly successful if you include these older generations by giving them their own Project X. Maybe you can draw inspiration from the Dutch ”Benidorm Bastards”!
The second choice should definitely be Zombieland as the movie actually takes place in a themepark, so why not build an existing one?! Although I do think that the Sims idea does need some work, as Pol described.
